The Belt and Road Initiative-Create a new situation of internationalization in win-win cooperation

As a supporter and practitioner of the "Belt and Road" strategy, Dowstone actively responds to the national "Belt and Road" initiative, seizes development opportunities, and takes the initiative to "go global". In the case of combining the development strategy and market environment, in order to ensure the supply of raw materials and the global layout of the lithium battery materials sector, Dowstone has carried out the layout of cobalt intermediates in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in Africa through wholly-owned acquisitions and capital increases:

In 2018, it completed the wholly-owned acquisition of Jiayuan Mining Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MJM") in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

In 2021, through a capital increase, it completed the holding of Congo (DRC) Mineral Metals Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MMT").

Through such an industrial layout, Dowstone has made great contributions to promoting the development of local mining resources, increasing employment opportunities and tax revenues, and improving people's livelihood while strengthening the acquisition of upstream raw materials and ensuring the stability of the supply chain, creating a new situation of internationalization in win-win cooperation.

The Belt and Road Initiative-Fulfill social responsibility in project construction

During the construction and operation of the DRC project, Dowstone's overseas project operation subsidiaries and project departments have always adhered to the international development principle of win-win cooperation to contribute to the local economy, cooperate with local enterprises and serve the local people, introduce advanced equipment technology and management concepts to the local area, and absorb local labor employment. In 2021-2022, MJM and MMT paid a total of more than 22 million US dollars in taxes to the local government in accordance with the law. The joint venture company implements localized management and operation, and has recruited more than 1,100 employees from local sales, technology, finance and after-sales service to help cultivate local management talents. The operating subsidiary also regularly conducts training courses on related products for local employees, aiming to improve the professional level of enterprise employees and cultivate local high-quality technical talents.

At the same time, Dowstone's overseas operating subsidiaries also actively integrate into the local society, actively participating in local road network, water conservancy, agricultural facilities and other related infrastructure, as well as public welfare activities such as environmental protection, medical care, and love donations.

During the construction of the project, in order to ensure the on-site construction and the water supply of the surrounding residents, the subsidiary took the initiative to bear the drilling costs and connected the water wells to the local area, alleviating the water problem that has been plaguing the local villagers.

In order to facilitate the travel of surrounding villagers and workers, the company's project department built roads around the industrial park of the factory.

In 2022, MJM provided financial sponsorship to the Likasi Municipal Government's Agricultural Plantation Development Project to promote the upgrading of agricultural facilities.

In 2021 and 2022, MJM supported the International Women's Federation for two consecutive years, funding the livelihood of orphans and the protection of women's rights.

The company's project department plans and organizes transnational love donation activities to local poor people.

Under the "Belt and Road" initiative, Dowstone will rely on the in-depth construction of the project to support and help the local people reduce poverty and improve people's livelihood in different forms, seek common development with local residents, and continue to expand the field of cooperation with the goal of high standards, sustainability and people's livelihood, and strive to create more effective and bright "Belt and Road" practical results.
